LAURA ROOSEVELT
Laura Roosevelt is a contemporary artist who lives and works in Dallas, Texas. Roosevelt received degrees in art history and studio art from Denison University and a MA from New York University. Roosevelt has a complex multidisciplinary practice that incorporates diverse materials rich with symbolism and her personal history. Her work has been exhibited at notable institutions, including the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, the Dallas Historical Society, and The Aspen Institute, and is found in collections across the globe.

This September, J. Peeler Howell Fine Art presents a solo exhibition of new works by Dawn Waters Baker. Known for her luminous, atmospheric landscapes, Baker’s work explores themes of resilience, history, and spiritual significance.
Through a command of light and texture, her paintings invite viewers into a space where nature becomes both subject and metaphor. The gradations of tone and form establish a contemplative dialogue with nature, balancing presence and absence, density and transparency.
