Opening Reception

Thursday, November 13th from 5:30pm to 8pm

Join us for the opening reception of SYNCRETIC, an eclectic group exhibition celebrating artistic diversity and the fusion of style, medium, and vision. Opening Thursday, November 13, the show features work by all gallery artists and introduces three new artists to the JPHFA roster — Peter Maier, Kay Griffith, and Ashley Beebe.

Peter Maier, a celebrated realist painter, is known for his groundbreaking technique using automotive paint on aluminum panels, creating a depth and luminosity rarely seen in contemporary realism. Maier’s hyperreal surfaces have been described as “impossibly real,” and transform subjects such as classic cars, animals, into spectacular paintings of light, reflection, and precision craftsmanship.

Kay Griffith, a celebrated abstract expressionist based in Salado, Texas, joins J. Peeler Howell Fine Art as one of its newest represented artists. Known for her luminous color fields and rhythmic, intuitive brushwork, Griffith’s work bridges emotion and structure with striking vitality. Her paintings have been shown internationally, including at the London Art Biennale, and she was named among the Top 15 Contemporary Artists of 2016 by Art Tour International Magazine. Her work is held in private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. and Europe, earning multiple international awards for excellence in abstract expressionism.

Ashley Beebe, a Fort Worth–based artist, creates collage-based works drawn from vintage magazines and pop culture of the mid-20th century, transforming fragments of nostalgia into imaginative, unexpected worlds. Her whimsical mixed media works contribute a resonant addition to the gallery’s dialogue between structure and spontaneity.

SYNCRETIC brings together artists whose work stands firmly on its own, yet converses imaginatively with one another,” says gallery director Peeler Howell. “It’s very exciting to see this work together and to introduce Pete, Kay, and Ashley.”

The exhibition also features new and recent works by Dawn Waters Baker, Tony Saladino, Diane Walker Gladney, Adam Fung, Allison Streett, Tom Judd, Kiki Gaffney, Tom Bolles, Tom Motley, Michelle Benoit, Holly Miller, Arno Kortschot, and Laura Roosevelt, underscoring the gallery’s dedication to artists of distinct vision and exceptional craft.

Located in Fort Worth’s Cultural District, J. Peeler Howell Fine Art continues to cultivate a program of contemporary fine art rooted in beauty, material integrity, and emotional resonance.
